This Product is for personnel wishing to become competent in the Banksman & Slinger role in the energy industry.

Course Objectives:

The course will: train learners in the principles of banking a crane using hand and radio signals, in the correct slinging of different types of loads, and in the safety precautions to be taken whilst working with cranes. The course is a mix of theoretical and practical sessions, during which learners will be required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and understanding of the training programme content

Course Content

This Product aims to equip the learner with the basic knowledge of activities associated with the combined Banksman and Slinger roles, and the safety and regulatory requirements of those activities.To achieve the Banksman and Slinger Initial Training the learner will need to complete the 3 mandatory units.

  1. An Introduction to Lifting Operations and the Role and Responsibilities of the Banksman and Slinger (Load Handler)
  2. Lifting Operations by Crane – Theory
  3. Lifting Operations by Crane – Practical
