Course Objectives:

Participants completing a GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Onshore Package will be able to;
– Identify possible fire hazards within the wind industry and understand how to control and mitigate these hazards
– Administer safe and effective first aid in a wind turbine industry in accordance with GWO
– Correctly performing manual handling activities in the wind industry wind turbine environment
– Perform safe and comprehensive basic rescue from height in a turbine environment while meeting emergency response requirements for personnel new to the global wind industry

Prerequisites:

All participants are required to have their personal WINDA registration number. Registration can be completed at the following link:             https://winda.globalwindsafety.org/  When registering you need to do so as a COURSE PARTICIPANT and you must use your personal email address to create your profile.  Please email your WINDA number to oatc.co.za before you come and do your course.

Fitness:

A good standard of general fitness is required – participants will complete a medical fitness questionnaire at the centre at the commencement of the courses.
