Participants completing a GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Onshore Package will be able to;
1. Identify possible fire hazards within the wind industry and understand how to control and mitigate these hazards
2. Administer safe and effective first aid in a wind turbine industry in accordance with GWO
3. Correctly performing manual handling activities in the wind industry wind turbine environment
4. Perform safe and comprehensive basic rescue from height in a turbine environment while meeting emergency response requirements for personnel new to the global wind industry
5. Demonstrate sea survival techniques and safe transfer between vessels and installations
Learners completing the OPITO FOET (CA-EBS) course will be able to
- Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with a particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
- Demonstrate that they can use basic firefighting equipment effectively, and use self-rescue techniques in low visibility and completely obscured visibility situations e.g. smoke-filled areas.
- Demonstrate that they can perform basic first aid.
