This course reviews and builds on knowledge and skills previously gained from GWO ART and GWO Working at Height training.
GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART) Refresher combines a Hub, Spinner, and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR) module and a Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue – Refresher (NTBR-R) module which includes GWO Working at Height.
The training reviews the skills and knowledge required to access and perform rescue operations in various areas of a wind turbine generator.
Participants completing a GWO ART Combined Refresher course will be able to;
– Safely access the hub, spinner, inside blade, nacelle, tower and basement section of a wind turbine to get to an injured person
– Perform entry-type casualty rescue operations in a wind turbine generator
– Correctly use industry standards rescue equipment and methods
– Understand and demonstrate rescue techniques that exceed those of GWO Working at Height
Learners completing the OPITO BOSIET CA-EBS (Digital) course will be able to:
- Identify the generic hazards specific to offshore oil and gas installations, potential risks associated with those hazards, and how controls are put in place to eliminate or reduce risks.
- Identify key offshore-related safety regulations and explain the basic safety management concepts
- Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching
- Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques
- Demonstrate that they can effectively use basic firefighting equipment and practise self-rescue techniques in low visibility situations, including smoke-filled areas.
