Course Objectives:

The objectives of the OPITO Rigger Initial Training Course are to provide the learner with knowledge of rigging principles, general hazards and risks of rigging and lifting operations, an awareness of relevant legislation and regulation, and an opportunity to practice basic rigging operations following a lifting plan. The Initial Training Programme allows the learner to demonstrate basic Rigger practical skills, following instruction and demonstration by the training staff. Following which learners will be required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and understanding of the training programme content. OPITO Banksman & Slinger Initial Training: The course will: train learners in the principles of banking a crane using hand and radio signals, in the correct slinging of different types of loads, and in the safety precautions to be taken whilst working with cranes. The course is a mix of theoretical and practical sessions, during which learners will be required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and understanding of the training course content
