Participants completing a GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Onshore Package will be able to;
1. Identify possible fire hazards within the wind industry and understand how to control and mitigate these hazards
2. Administer safe and effective first aid in a wind turbine industry in accordance with GWO
3. Correctly performing manual handling activities in the wind industry wind turbine environment
4. Perform safe and comprehensive basic rescue from height in a turbine environment while meeting emergency response requirements for personnel new to the global wind industry
Learners completing the OPITO BOSIET (CA-EBS) course will be able to
- Identify the generic hazards specific to offshore oil and gas installations, potential risks associated with those hazards, and how controls are put in place to eliminate or reduce risks.
- Identify key offshore-related safety regulations and explain the basic safety management concepts
- Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching
- Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques
- Demonstrate that they can effectively use basic firefighting equipment and practise self-rescue techniques in low visibility situations, including smoke-filled areas.
